The RS Zest is already a global hit with training centres and families. Space enough to have two or three junior/youth sailors, two adults or can easily be sailed single-handed. Instructors will love the practical design solutions engineered by the RS design team, like the high boom, centreboard, kick-up rudder and comfy thwart.

A cool point of difference is that there is an option for a jib sail, easy to install and just as easy to take-off. With the battens being offset at an angle, it allows for the sail to be rolled up around the mast, ensuring no time is lost de-rigging. Rotomolded polyethylene construction makes the RS Zest almost maintenance free.

This is a boat to get you onto the water and into the wonderful world of sailing, no hassle, no end to the fun.

Space, Security, Safety

  • Many boats in this sector are sailed by two but really suited to one… Cockpit space in the RS Zest changes that; a mini double-hander that can be sailed solo.
  • Class-leading crew space with a choice of secure inner and outboard seating areas, 3-stage sitting positions to build confidence and encourage progression
  • Easily handled by youngsters while the space offers added comfort for adults.
  • Exceptionally stable hull form
  • Super high boom, maximises space and saves bumped heads
  • Moulded-in grab points for helm and crew make it easier to get aboard after a capsize

Practical features for instructors & families

  • The thwart provides a comfy position for the crew to sit in whilst building up their confidence in positioning.
  • "Hinging" mast step system for ease and greater safety; can be done by pupils and youngsters.
  • Clunk-Click mast gate lock. Simple, Safe
  • Lock-Up & Lock-Down rudder system with Kick-Up grounding system. Simple, Strong
  • Pivoting centreboard instead of a daggerboard. User-friendly, damage-resistant
  • Roller furling main, easy reefing from on board or an instructor's RIB
  • High visibility sail colour
  • Built-in tow points, makes towing 6 boats convenient

Fun, Simple, Stylish

  • Rewarding performance, just like every RS
  • Modern styling
  • Engineered-in features
